RMA Properties Reviews: Initial Viewing

We walked into RMA Properties with high expectations, it's a nice office and the people sat there seemed friendly and were fairly well turned out. However, appearances can be deceptive and the signs were there from the beginning.

1. Requested a list of available properties. First thing Richard 'the Office Junior' did was to fire up Rightmove.co.uk and searched for RMA properties online. If I had known that is what he was going to do I could have done that at home!

2. A light switched on. Suddenly Office Junior had a realisation there was a property on the books, which was due for completion in a couple of weeks. He tried in vein to hunt for photos and managed to find a folder full of them. Unfortunately it was a folder full of all the photos from a number of different properties. 'I think this is the lounge, and here's a kitchen but they all vary' - thanks that really useful and you know what you're doing, right?!

3. The viewings. We walked through the building site, because that is what is was at the time. The maintenance crew of Paul & Sonya were trying to finish the properties in time. There was lot to do, but we seemed happy with the options.

4. A questions of parking. Some basic questions were asked about the property, such as parking. We were shown the residents parking notice in the street 'just apply through the parking shop and it's about £40 a year'.

5. Time to reflect. We took a some time to reflect on whether to proceed with the property. With our decision we headed back to the office to confirm that we wanted to proceed with our application. So we asked for the Office Junior, at which point Kate enters the proceedings. 'You can deal with me, as I'm going to be the Property Manager' OK great!

6. Easing concerns. So while Kate is trying to organise the paperwork, we get talking to 'one brown suit' Dippy Dave. We ask him about the parking and he says that we can get parking permits from the council. What about the commercial space in the property? He replies 'it will be offices, the same as it used to be' 'so there'll be no bars or cafes going in?' we ask. 'No, will be offices'. Ok so all fears eased we sign up!
